Hate the Double-Underline

I don't know what it's called, but whenever I see the double-underline on a web page (like this one) I get tense and edgy, because I know that any random mouse movement is likely to obscure my view of the web page for some arbitrary ad that may or may not have anything to do with the article that I'm reading. I understand that MS used to have a 'feature' like this in IE that got dropped because everyone hated it. Too bad we can't all learn from Microsoft's mistakes.
